And some--well, go read the comments to any HBR post about Millennials. Every generation started out overly idealistic (especially Boomers), and mellowed out as they became more experienced and learned that compromise is a necessity, not a sell out.

Years from now, Millenials will seem cranky compared to the next emerging generations.David M. I'm not saying that Xers are cranky because of Millennials and their workplace aspirations, I'm trying to say that (some) Xers are cranky because their own aspirations have been stymied, and they don't like to see those aspirations in others.Eric Lankehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955772930132857028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2488879425900650696.post-4730497413392844422011-02-22T08:49:33.390-06:002011-02-22T08:49:33.390-06:00While I agree that we Xers drip with cynicism, I w...While I agree that we Xers drip with cynicism, I would argue that the reasons may be more mundane than resentment for millenials search for truth and equality. For me, its a simple matter of economics. I'm blocked from moving into leadership by Boomers who it seems (she says cynically) may nver retire and millennials who have made it clear that they are next in line. Being between a rock and overeager oversharers can make a generation cranky!Suzynoreply@blogger.com
